FREEBIE: Cross-Stitch 2016 Calendar

Gal & Fellow 2016 Stitch Calendar

Every year for Christmas I try to give some sort of hand-made gift to friends and family. There’s nothing lovelier than knowing that someone close to you can enjoy and use something you’ve concocted from scratch. Be it some slightly strange-tasting biscuits, or maybe some knitted socks that would never fit any human on this earth (don’t worry family, I’ve hung up my knitting needles for good now!).

As a festive gift to you all I'm giving away this calendar as a free printable. Just download the calendar and belly-band, print onto A4 card, cut out each card and the belly band to hold it together, package up with your chosen colour of cross-stitch twine, and voila one lovely calendar to give as a gift. Here's to a wonderful and creative 2016!

This year I’m putting together a package of homemade ginger beer (delicious and easy to make, fab recipe here), dairy-free cinnamon almond stars (if I can’t have dairy, no-one else can!) and a cross stitch 2016 calendar.

I love the idea of a gift that lasts the whole year, and this one has the added benefit of the recipient taking some time out once a month to stitch a letter and so interact with the gift. I have visions of family members quietly sitting in an armchair stitching away, maybe reflecting on the month that has passed and planning for the one ahead. We lead such crazy lives that sometimes a bit of enforced downtime is just what we need.
